I wish I was on a hunting vacation too! The wife would not want to be on one though. Camping is not her cup of tea.

We were in the Elk & Bison Prairie, a restoration of a native habitat. It is located in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area in SW KY & TN.

The Park ranger said the bull elk in that pic was their 3rd largest on the Prairie. He said it is a 6x6 [the ranger said the elk were not Rocky Mountain elk, but a smaller breed from Canada - they still were huge IMO].

The lighting conditions for photos was horrible & most of my pics were unusable. Per the rules you cannot leave your vehicle if you are within 200 feet of an elk or bison making photo taking harder. We could see him, a second smaller bull & several cows quite clearly. And the other pics show how close the bison were. They intentionally blocked the road.

It was well worth the $5 per car admission. So much so we went back a second time.
