I don't want to give ammunition to liberals who are searching high and low for something bad to hang on conservatives

Trust me. I am conservative to the core, but you need not worry about me raining on the RNC's parade, guy. I left the Republican Party for good when they chose Juan "Amnesty" McShame as their candidate. I was not alone.

I voted for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party and I will do so again.

Not to digress, but there is not much Republican Party unity to begin with. What passes as unity is primarily opposition to the disasterous DNC alternative.

We now see people like Beck and Palin extolling the "virtues" of communist radical Martin Luther King, Jr. to a crowd of 95 percent White conservatives at a rally. What a tragic waste of time, effort, and the opportunity for a far greater message!

Then, there are elements of the Republican Party who believe it needs a divisive, token disaster like Michael Steele calling the shots as chairman, presumably to pull one or two percent of Black supporters from the DNC, while hopefully only losing a lower percentage of the RNC's constituency in the process.

So, yes. Toss out all of the "conservative racists" and all of the "conservative extremists" and all of the "conservative hatemongers" and everyone else who does not meet your personal definition of a conservative in the year 2010. You don't need their votes polluting the stream, right? So, who's left? A small group of moderates and centrists?

The RNC keeps changing the line and making concessions and compromises to their core positions to "broaden the umbrella" in a blatant effort to appeal to Blacks, Hispanics, illegals, gays, and young voters. Consequently, less and less separates the RNC from the DNC these days.

How sad for the RNC and true conservatism that they chose to betray their core constituency and the party's guiding principles.
