First, those tests are not very demanding. Only one (Series 7) is probably somewhat demanding.
Take it, pass it, than tell us how somewhat demanding it is. I took it more than 10 years ago I remember durring the break between the morning 3 hours and the afternoon I was sitting on the hallway floor of the NYC highschool that the test was given at. I was brushing up on the finer points of rules and regs when a guy leaned against the wall and let his legs melt and he slid down to the floor with a thud. I said are you all right and he said and I quote " And I thought the bar was hard" Now before all you attorneys get upset of course the Bar and for you CPA your test too by far are more demanding. But George if you have never answered a question where 3 answers are right but you need to know which one is the most right than you can not judge.
CFPs are great but they would be better with a CLU.gggg Honestly if you are buying individual stocks like this there isnt a CFP that would put you there. Most CFPs will place you in diversified Mfunds or bluest of chips. Also those CFPs that work of fee based want large assett based clients because its normally a % of invested assetts that they earn fee from.
If you want a working portfolio your advice is Ok. but if you are trying to learn to trade stocks no better place to start than with a trading broker at one of the big houses.
In shorts Vics advice is more than wise in this case.IMO mandatory
