You are discounting the fact that the iPhone/iTouch/iPad are being integrated as controllers of other Apple products and game controllers.

And at some point in time, calls using VOIP are going to start outnumbering regular calls. I don't know what that means to the phone market but surely something as phone calls are absorbed into computing.

In addition a good part of the race is about battery life vs. performance which is why Apple is designing it's own processors. Part of that performance will come down to good software.

Apple always seems to be looking down the road, and certainly they were one of the first to see the convergence of media, mobility, cloud, and ease of use between devices.

I agree it's difficult to see past a few years. For the next year I have no doubt they are going to sell oodles of iDevices and computers.
