Ron-Here is some additional information from IBD dated 2/7/97.The
article was devoted to Deswell(you probably have this information).
1.Mita Industries Ltd.,Nam Tai and Inter-Tel(US company) supply
half of Deswell's revenue.Try calling Mita and InterTel to gather
some information.James Riedl is the Director of Factored Product
Development at phone maker Inter-Tel.Deswell anticipated doing up to
half a million in business with Mita(Japanese company).
2.At the time the article was written Deswell was one of three firms
in China with a 1,600 ton plastic injection machine.Has this situation
changed?
After you get more information about items #1 and #2 you will be able
to make a more informed decision about the stock. Also,I would keep
an eye on the Hong Kong and Japanese stock markets(unless this is a
long-term investment) because they will have an effect on stocks
such as Deswell.
I hope this helps out.
I am disappointed in Elamf, neutral on Dswlf and disgusted with Ntaif.
I think that Ntaif's mgt lacks financial acumen.
