Three Billion by '99? Well, O Most Wise Wizard, I'm using slightly less optimistic numbers. Let's skip the 4th quarter a have a look at March ... Background: When LSI was still running hot, their March 94 revenues jumped 44 percent in March 95 (from 194 Mil to $280 mil.. The subsequent March figures were about $311 Mil for '96, and $308 for '97. From there, let's say we start getting (min) 25% growth. That would bring us up to a Mar '00 quarter of roughly $600 mil. Multiply X 4 for an annual factor, and we have, Tah Dah $2.4 Billion Revenues... Hmmm Not quite $3 Bil. Achieving Mar 95 Margins on those revenues, we get about $2.75/share.
However, if we were to run the higher end of the growth game -- say 45%, then we get Mar '00 revenues of $940 Mil for the Mar '00 Qtr, annualized at $3.7 Billion, and with a high end margin we could see about $4.50/share. Backing up the optimistic estimate from '00 into 99, we come up with $2.6 billion.
So, to answer your question -- Three Billion?.... Doable, but high end, IMHO.. TSO
