"Of course, I'm going to be biased toward Christianity,

Of course. Not a problem but not just a Christian bias toward things non-Christian. I know how the church members talk about the church across the street and it aint pretty. It's the nature of groups, I call it clubism. The members of one Mosque do the same about the cross town Mosque.

but I also take a strong stand against Christian violence toward Muslims. That's just wrong.

Its not apparent on this thread where some pretty nasty stuff passes that would never pass if it was ethnic or anti-Israel.

"I don't know where you get the idea that I'm comparing the saints of Christianity to the assholes of Islam. That sounds more like what Bentway wants you to think."

When any criticism is levied about the treatment of Muslims you counter with how awful it is for decent Christians and point to the barbaric assholes on the other side of the planet. Meanwhile the 7 million Muslims in your own country have been patiently wondering for a decade now, how long the excuse of 911 will be used to justify their exclusion from your definition of beloved neighbors and countrymen. You are a Christian witness, what do you think these people witness every single day living here in America? It's ugly bigotry and they've been pretty daym decent about it if you ask me. The occasional luny or woman wanting to wear a scarf at work is huge enough to keep you all going it seems. Don't wear your funny cloths and don't build places to worship that are as pretty as the mega churches and we'll put up with you.

Do you think the culture of Afghanistan would be better with out Islam? I know what it has been like in the regions where there was no religious practice and it is horrific. But as I frequently try to point out, context is everything, most of this stuff is circumstantial. Look at a pristine culture that has relatively idealistic circumstances and with or with out religion the people are pretty decent. Look at one where survival depends on a fight for basic resources, or where there is a demographic imbalance of power and people are not so decent, with or with out religion.
