Good points, Bill.

I've always thought that health care is not be a "right" and that the government should not have its hand in any of it.

Health care, like everything else in life, should be earned.

As a fellow conservative, I am sure you'll agree that the essence of conservatism is that we plan for tomorrow, we lead responsible lives, and we take proactive steps to increase our chances of survival. Responsibility is not an easy road. It requires self-discipline and determination.

Conservatives generally plan ahead and take actions to earn food, water, clothing, shelter, insurance, transportation, health care, and safety for ourselves and our families. Conservatives generally choose to take the harder road of responsibility. We reap the rewards of such choices in the end. Others choose easier, irresponsible paths. They end up at the mercy of the world.

High-quality health care is not a concern in my life because I worked for it and I earned it, and I am confident you did as well. Why should irresponsible people enjoy the same rewards and benefits that responsible people legitimately earn? I do not think they should.
