Hedge fund managers are a tiny percentage of the rich. Applying higher taxes in general on the wealthy because you don't like hedge fund managers doesn't make much sense.

To the extent hedge fund managers provide their clients with a service worth more than the managers get, I have no problem with whatever level of compensation they get. To the extent they don't provide a useful and cost-effective service, that's really between them and their clients, unless theft or fraud is involved. If theft or fraud is involved, then the answer is to investigate and prosecute the criminals, not generally raise the top tax rate.
