Taiwan Acer's Aug sales up almost 40 pct y/y -
Falling off the cliff - July was off by around 40%.
Something "abnormal" occurred and the sell side jumped on it..
My guess it has to do with Intel shipping upgraded CPUs rather cutting the price.
All the talk of "seasonal weakness" is based on a very strong first half.

TAIPEI, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Taiwan's Acer Inc (2353.TW), the world's No.3 PC vendor, said on Friday its August sales reached T$52.76 billion ($1.65 billion), up 39.88 percent from the same month a year earlier.

Acer did not give further details. The company has said it expects brand revenue in the third quarter to grow 10-15 percent from the second quarter. (US$1=T$32) (Reporting by Baker Li; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
