Unfortunately, that's true. -ng-

A little background about me.... I do not drink alcohol, smoke, use illicit drugs, or abuse prescription drugs, but I am not opposed to other people doing so. I believe in complete and absolute freedom. Live and let live.

The aspect that disturbs me is that some people cannot be trusted to not become chemically impaired and drive around, fly around, or other ricochet around society killing and maiming others in a chemical stupor.

My compromise proposal is a one-strike law. Allow people to use drugs all they want to in their homes and on their property, but, the first time an individual is caught risking the lives of others, he/she should be sent to prison for a very long time. If their actions kill someone, they should receive capital punishment.

Also, I would not want hear any nonsense such as, "Oh, poor Johnny was a helpless victim of alcoholism. He never would have run through that red light and killed that defenseless family if he wasn't under the control of alcohol... (or crack, or heroine, etc.) Johnny is a good man.

Bullshit! Enough with the addiction victimization routine.
