Hmm. I guess it depends on who the nuts are.
The way I see it. We woke up one day in September 2008 and found out that unless we immediately gave the banks all the money in the world, civilization would end and we would all be living in caves. They ended up bailing out who? not us, not even the banks, but the banksters, the officers of the banks, who somehow, because of some deal made in some smoke filled room were able to continue to receive ridiculous bonuses for being totally incompetent, (By the way I would have screwed things up for 1/2 what they make).
I don't think those who oppose this nonsense are the nuts. I think those who created it are the nuts.
Then we are told that the way to recover from an economic disaster caused by too much spending and too much debt, is ta da, spend more and borrow more!!!. I would suggest that those who advocate such nonsense are the nuts.
Then we are told that we have to have a health care bill, justified on the lie that somehow we would bend the cost curve on health care and save money. They actually asked us to believe that their estimates of the cost are accurate. Now you really have to be a nut, or have been asleep for 50 years to believe that any cost estimate given by the government is any where near accurate, and by the way always underestimated. I think the nuts are the ones who really believe that the Health Care Bill will cut costs and help the economy.
I could go on but you get the idea. Maybe you think it is nutty not to borrow and spend ourselves into oblivion, but opposition to that notion is the thrust of the teaparty movement. They reject this idea and they think those who embrace it are the nuts. So do I.
