this is something that fascinates me about you Eric. You seem to think that government paying for nuclear or government paying for your solar power system somehow makes it "cheaper". That just ain't so. It only shifts the costs to someone else.

The reason it is cost effective in France is because they standardized the plant designs and took out the government imposed obstacles to deploying power plants.

You should see the costs that simple little environmentalists and anthropologists add to the building of a new energy plant.

If you find a 50 year old beer can on a desert site you have to halt building and call in the anthropologist who cordones off the site and does an exploratory dig to make sure there aren't other artifacts.

But you are right, as long as we have the liberal whack jobs justifying their existence by inhibiting progress whenever they can, nukes will be too expensive here in the U.S.
