If older people can't handle the jobs they have, they can get less stressful ones

Who exactly is hiring 55+ workers without special skills, or at almost any skill level now? They are one of the hardest hit sectors of the workforce along with fresh grads.

Given a choice, most companies aren't going to hire someone that age unless they have a sterling track record and fit a particular niche. Simple retraining won't overcome that, it's like creating a fresh grad with an age handicap too.
