MICRON MAKES ZIP STANDARD AS A: DRIVE

NAMPA, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1997--

--New industrial design of Micron Millennia(R) platform to push
computer architecture into next millennium --

Micron Electronics, Inc., (NASDAQ:MUEI) today announced the
company's flagship PCs, the Micron Millennia(R) line, will be the first
platform in the industry to incorporate Iomega Corporation's
(NYSE:IOM) Zip(TM) drive as standard for Drive A:, guaranteeing Micron
customers rapid access storage at an affordable rate.
With the inclusion of the Iomega Zip as Drive A: on all future
Millennia computers in early 1998, Micron Electronics offers a
complete multimedia package. Iomega's Zip drives are designed to
make it easier for Micron's Millennia users to save, use, organize
and manage today's multimedia intensive information on removable
100MB Zip disks. The Iomega Zip drive uses 100-megabyte Zip disks,
which provide 70 times the capacity of traditional floppy disks with
up to 20 times faster performance. Each Zip drive ships with Zip
Tools software to help organize and manage information.
Additionally, Norton Zip Rescue is planned to be shipping with Micron
Zip drive-based systems early in 1998. A floppy drive will ship
standard as Drive B.
"Micron Electronics not only has a reputation for offering
leading edge technology solutions to both consumer and corporate
users, but it is also a leader in incorporating Zip technology into
its PCs," said Kim Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer of
Iomega Corporation. "The inclusion of the Zip drive takes Micron
Electronics and the direct channel one step further -- users will be
able to manage their information, from digital photos to Internet web
sites, much more efficiently."
"In our opinion, Zip is the floppy of the multimedia age. Our
Millennia line strives to be a step ahead of the cutting edge, and
this alignment -- Zip as Drive A: for the Millennia line -- will mold
the future of computing," said Joe Daltoso, Micron Electronics
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "We've planned the integration
of Zip into our bezel as the A: drive. It is no longer an
after-thought or an upgrade; rather, it is a standard feature we will
bring to our customers with our new industrial design."
The inclusion of Iomega's technology proves once again Micron
Electronics' ability to deliver systems ahead of the competition.
Also, in keeping with Micron's commitment to provide systems that are
truly designed to meet consumer demand, the new Zip drive provides
room to backup hard drive files, run applications, and store hundreds
of photographic images.
