Ted, although half of Salt Lake City are normal people who probably vote (D) ( (D) mayors testify to that ), the rest of the state are Mormons who vote (R) reflexively.

It doesn't matter how stupid, crooked or bad with money the (R)'s are, they'll keep checking that (R) box, just as the church tells them to.

An (R) proposal that was seriously considered was to eliminate 12th grade from high school to save money. I think they didn't do it when several colleges mentioned that they wouldn't accept students that hadn't completed their senior year!
