But that's a function of form factor. I can take the iPad anywhere and surf the Internet, read the WSJ, or whatever, but for content-creation, it's not going to replace the PC or Mac.

Why not? Linking wireless to a keyboard is still a lot more convenient than being tethered to an electric outlet.
