Congratulations! IMHO a much better quality of life.

Even now my iPhone 3GS is starting to feel sluggish.

I had the same problem with my 3G. What I did and it helped a lot was to sync the iPhone, then click on the "restore to original" (or something like that) in iTunes, and then re-sync all the apps and stuff. I'll bet you see an improvement.

I wonder how long it will be before my iPhone or your iPad gets cluttered up with malware, etc.

I doubt it will happen. Macs have been around a long time and they really don't have a lot of those problems. I'm Mac at work now and we don't even run a virus scan. Maybe the other iProducts will be more susceptible, but I don't see why.
