yes, you are right it is normal climate. It has happened before and it will happen again. The past two years were a bit lackluster on the hurricane front. That means that there was more stored heat in the atlantic. Hurricanes are one of the Earth's mechanisms to dissipate heat and normalize the climate.

The lackluster hurricane seasons in the past couple of years are completely explainable in non-doomsday terms. And the active hurricane season was entirely predictable. In fact, I predicted it right here on silicon investor.....I'll go find it and post it to you.
