I love what Feingold did. Only two senators voted against the tonkin gulf resolution Earnest Gruening of alaska and Wayne Morse of Oregon. Both lost their subsequent elections. Which is why the dems all voted for the Patriot act. I know exactly the dangers of which Feingold speaks. But what Tejek gets that you don't, is that the Republicans are 10,000 times worse than dems. Tejek is just being pragmatic which is probably smarter than either of us! Dems voted for the Patriot act out of political suvival. Doesn't make it right, but at least they knew it was Orwellian. The Republicans do not have a clue who orwell even is and wouldn't care if they did and wouldn't understand the book if they read it. They always vote for war and aggression and guns and any other racist or jingoistic bullshit that comes along.
