#2 rule is applicable if one simple finds good ADX xo signals and enter after confirmation. There is another thing to consider here too. I have found that if you plan to exit after 6 ticks after the xo you should do well. No need to find lows or tops. Sometimes 8 ticks works, but if you stick to a xo then exit 6 tick later it seem to be okay. All in all, if the ADX is trending you can enter with some reasonable likelihood of continuation. But also remember the angle of the xo and the slope.
