You can argue against Reason's report based on them not being in the industry (and thus less directly connected to the issue, and thus having less detailed knowledge of the problem), or against industry reports based on them being in the industry (and thus having an incentive to make things look worse if it gets them more business). Personally I'd rather deal with the actual facts or arguments raised by different articles, posts, or reports, than with who created the report (but that might not be so simple in this case).

I'm not sure that Reason is right and that things are the best in 19 years. Perhaps its not even close to that. But with all the talk of crumbling you would have thought our transportation network would have fallen apart already. I don't consider the Reason report to be extremely solid evidence, but I also discount all the claims of imminent doom if we don't spend a ton of extra money.

In any case my main point was not "we don't need to spend money on transportation and other forms of infrastructure", but rather that we don't need to do so as "stimulus", and we don't need to do so in such a way as to specifically aim the benefits at unions.
