I thought it was funny that so much discussion in sports TV last week focused on how much damage James Madison did to Boise State's chances. Speaking of breaking the plane, I was screaming at the TV a few tears back because some Va Tech showboat receiver (Williams??) stretched for the goal line as he lept over. The ball flew out of his outstretched hand and broke the plane almost a foot before he did. There was clearly six inches of daylight between his finger tips and the ball. The idiocy of that was that no opponent was within ten feet of him. No one talks about it because the refs awarded the touchdown and the commentators were focused on whether he had stepped out of bounds twenty yards earlier. Or something like that.
