The severity of yesterday's very brief but powerful storm here in NY City, which I referred to in #msg-26827500, was far worse than I'd earlier thought. It's easy to see why now. I'm situated near the Verrazano Bridge linking Brooklyn to Staten Island in the lower left quadrant of this map, nyti.ms, where one can readily see that the storm's impact was relatively light.
