>>And what kind of a fool can take the preaching of madmen over the Word of God? I think only those who don't really know it, or? What? I am without a clue as to what humans do because they simply blow my mind too often trying to comprehend their thoughts and actions. And it probably goes both ways, I'm sure.<<
Jane,
I agree with both observations. 1) Knowing God's word is protection from the likes of Jim Jones et al -- and 2) human behavior is the most unpredictable thing we see.
I try not to judge and I try not to "figure people out," just take actions and communications at face value. Only God knows the heart completely. This is good from a number of standpoints -- first, I have Someone who has seen all there is to see of me, worst to best, and still decides to love me unconditionally -- second, it is good sometimes that we do not completely know what is on the heart of a brother or sister -- there is an added oppty for love, faith and trust to be practiced.
