Most of these ideas are similar to the Beck call to cut military spending in half. They are just opening salvos around which interested folks can coalesce. Getting any or all of them done would, of course, be a tooth and nail catfight. The difficulty in doing what is truly the right thing for the future of the country is why we keep getting bad/weak/unnecessary legislation shoved on us.

Perhaps what was most interesting about the list was the absence of things. No call to bring down the government, no call to scrap SS, Medicare, welfare, etc., no call to reinstate slavery <gg> by all those TP bigots. In fact, the focus was clearly on fiscal responsibility and budget management.

No coincidence that many of the old Perot voters are surfacing among local TP organizers, etc.....or so I've read. Among middle class folk over 50 who've seen the value of their homes decline, their 401Ks fail to grow for ten years, and current interest rates that won't give them much interest income at retirement, there's genuine fear and disgust at the possibility that SS and Medicare will have to be wittled back
