And that is supposed to morph magically into saving the retirement generation? Really?

No, no....you probably are misunderstanding me. I only brought up the TP discussion in response to comments on the the thread that were, imo, mischaracterizations of the movement and its participants.

Even if the TP evolved into a legitimate third party movement, it would take 20-30 years for it to grab enough seats in Congress to get anything constructive done. So I think we're still on the same path to financial degradation we've been on for ten years....ever since Bush admin. policies changed the trajectory of things. The Obama admin. has been basically counter-productive in this picture and will likely prove to have actually speeded things along. Barring some unexpected and massive growth in aggregate wages, debt will possibly hit 100% of GDP in 2012-2013 rather than the expected 2014-2015.

Right now corporate America has never been in better shape and has its collective boot firmly on the throat of the American worker. I don't see any way wage growth can inflate us out of danger.

My interest in the TP just stems from idle curiosity, not hopefulness....ha. My dark view of the future, while subject to change, is still quite dark. And it won't matter a bit who's elected or not elected or which party is in control. Dems will Keynesian deficit spend us over the edge or Reps will tax cut us over the edge. Seems to me the die has been firmly cast.
