Well I'm willing to be "educated". But I actually have an interest in this area. My moot court argument involved a confrontation between religion and the state.

The problem, for the UK, is that they have no separation of church and state and this no hard and fast way to draw lines between the laws of Gods (which really ought to bind only those who submit to those gods) and the laws of man (or Caesar, if you prefer). In the US it is quite clear that religion shall not, and under this constitution, will not, be allowed to regulate the lives of people- unless of course they have a valid contract that does not violate public policy.

I can understand why ignorant people look at the UK and worry, but I can't understand why anyone with any knowledge of our US case law and constitution, and this present court, would be worried at all. But I would never call myself a legal heavyweight- except when you compare me to people who really aren't up to speed on the law at all.
