Well, I sure as hell hope this posting gets you out of your tree!
You may be a Catholic, you may be offended by the Nazi undertones in this picture. The man himself was in Hitler Youth so the comparison is relevant for the purposes of parody and discussion.
“Give Me the Child Until He Is Seven, and I Will Show You the Man” is the title of a book and documentary by Michael Apted. I put it to you that this description is a valid summary of any regime, Fascist or Religious – the first years are extremely formative.
I too have the right to be offended as much as you.
Firstly due to the large cost of this visit from the taxpayers purse. You may argue the Vatican is a state (and probably that his Holey-stretcher-ness should have diplomatic immunity too). It was made a state under agreement with that great champion of democracy – Mussolini! People are dying in this country because we don’t have the money for cancer drugs, whats more important?
His “Country” controls vast amounts of wealth and has a vatican bank, why are WE paying?
The Catholic Church behaves in a manner somewhat similar to Nazi Germany – ignoring the obvious Fuhrer comparison – it thinks it can conduct secret courts and that its higher members (Bishops etc) are above the law the rest of us are subject to. Only when its members report crimes, it doesn’t threaten to send them to concentration camps on the pain of not keeping silent, it tells them they will be excommunicated instead for talking to the Authorities! How many suffer in silence?
You have the right to your beliefs but I put it to you that this man has no more credibility as a leader than any other man in a frock such as Danny La Rue!
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Perhaps that should be Woman’s clothing?
Do you have your own mind or are you unable to get your own direct line to the higher being you believe in? Are you able to tell the difference between right and wrong? Do you have a conscience? How can you claim to be one of a righteous breed?
I would say to you that emptying that conscience in a confession box with an official of that very organisation is a poor substitute for challenging the structure and morals of the organisation and TAKING SOLID ACTION AS A STAKEHOLDER to bring those responsible not just for such crimes, but also for covering them up and hiding the perpetrators.
I seek not to mock your belief but to challenge it rather strongly, you appear to attach yourself to an organisation who (among other religious ones)believes in separate laws, immunity and secrecy for its members. I have the right to challenge you where those in my Country, and other Countries could be exposed to harm whilst your “leaders” carry on in denial and with impunity to cover up and hide the perpetrators as they please.
My Country pays millions to Africa to deal with the effects of AIDS and overpopulation whilst your CEO tells them they shouldn’t use contraception leading many to certain death.
I will leave the subject of Women’s Rights and Gay Rights to other bloggers but, suffice to say, to all those Guardianista Feminista Sisters who preach to my business about employing more women etc etc, the Cloaked Clot of Vatican City is a more fitting target for your PMT power than I!
My Country will challenge parents about too many sweets in a child’s lunchbox but yet will pay one of your schools taxpayer’s funds to teach them that masturbation is a sin. Thats a comfort to me when there are so many deaths from prostate cancer in the UK which can be caused due to lack of sexual release. More death and destruction due to your policy of ingraining guilt into those too young to understand.

Maybe not but as a global organisation, the denials and cover ups over many years, sometimes moving a perpetrator to another parish where they continued the same, and undeniable and unjustifiable.
In the USA and then in Ireland, the patterns of transferring assets into trust to avoid financial penalties were virtually identical. In the specific case of Ireland, where many thought the E.U. made all the laws, the Bishops got an Act of Parliament thr0ugh where no one would be named or prosecuted.
Yes, they made a financial settlement. A huge amount of that was based on the development value of playgrounds of schools. Hardly a fitting legacy to the communities they have harmed.
And what did Pope Ratfink do when they offered their resignations? He refused to accept them!
And what about the most recent episode in Belgium?
The Independent discusses that here – more evidence of the Church trying to cover things up.
But, OK, all of this only came to light when Pope Benderdick had got to the top so he didn’t have any hand in anything before that time did he?
Yeah, he did. He was in charge of investigating things. The Wikipedia entry says that during that time he “led important changes made in church law”.
There is the problem – Church Law.
There should be no “Church Law” but the law of the land for you, me and them. No Pope, Bishop, Priest, Vicar, Parishioner or life-long atheist should be above it. One size fits all – these people are human, you may feel they are super-human but such a delusion is what makes these offences hide-able.
Whilst a raid in Belgium on a Church was declared illegal, the fact remains that the Catholic Church there felt it had some god-given right (pun intended) to hold committees and enquiries.
If a Council or a Children’s Home or School is found to have pedophilia and corruption at the highest level running through them, sure they hold an enquiry. Generally AFTER the Police enquiry, arrests and interviews.
Lets get these people into the 21st Century – full justice, full compensation and no immunity. I include in that the colluders and the evidence hiders.
The sooner this invader leaves our shores, the safer every parent can breathe.
The Final Word…..
This blog is written on the first day of ze Uber Popenfuhrer’s visit. He put the words “Nazi” and “Atheism” together in that speech.
