"Although I disagree about existance of God."
WHICH god do you disagree about the existence of? If I have not been mislead by your posts, you are familiar with the fact that other life forms existed for millions of years before humans arrived on the scene. This means (at the very least) that every religion that we can explore (out of thousands and thousands) are either not the words of any god (or of someone who knows about such matters)--OR the authors or "revealers" of such religions are LIARS.
Having accepted these facts as facts, the rational person does not backtrack the next day and say: "Well, maybe Genesis happened after dinosaurs and god was just using shorthand or something--or Moses was just doing a summary???
So which god do you think exists?
Given the diversity of life on our planet and the immensity of time and space, I think it almost a given that life shows a similar capacity for abundance and diversity where it has elsewhere taken hold. Are any of these creatures of sufficient power to be considered as "gods"? I certainly don't know. How many gods do you "disagree about the existence of"?? What attributes do you imagine this god or these gods possess? What is their purpose in living? What is their meaning? What makes them happy and sad?? What hurts them and what kills them? What do they eat to gain energy for work?
Remember, someone who accepts the full facts of the evolutionary record MUST dismiss all bible stories (from all races, cultures, and tribes) as myths or LIES. Because there is not a single religious myth in all of history that accords even remotely with the scientific fossil record and biological facts of human history. If you can find one, then I will stand corrected--but I believe evolutionary knowledge is subsequent to almost every religious myth invented by man. Therefore, if you believe in the existence of "god", I stand curious as to where you got such an idea. This cannot be the god of Moses or Allah or Sitting Bull or Calvin or Poundmaker or Hitler. Who on planet earth can vouch for this god? Who can describe him/her/it? Who can provide any evidence? |
