Wait, you mean Obama’s rhetoric on lobbyists and Republicans might not be truthful?

Democrats and the White House are painting Republicans for being beholden to lobbyists, pointing to an election-night event at a lobby firm, but HuffPo’s Sam Stein throws cold water on that:

<<< Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, has pretty much been bankrolling Democrats for the past year and a half. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, almost three-fourths of the $1.2 million in donations made by employees of the firm in the 2010 cycle have gone to Democratic candidates. That’s actually up from 2008, when 64 percent of the firm’s donations went Democratic, and in 2006 when 58 percent of the firm’s donations went to Democrats. >>>

But Stein does question the GOP event, first reported at Politico, and I do, too. Honestly, GOP, what are you thinking? Did you not learn from your bailouts and overspending that lobbyist-coziness does not help your cause? The NRSC is sending this HuffPo article around, too, which makes me wonder if these guys are getting it at all.
