What is the verdict on using Microsoft Security Essentials vs: something like AVAST? Avast seems to do the job but it is time consuming to wait for start up scans and update scans during the day. I just wish something could take its place but not be so intrusive. The latest Windows Secrets newsletter reports a 6 month study in which MSE proved to be able to protect several machines using different operating systems in different environments, and to do so with no invasions of a virus or malware. Should I remove AVAST and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials?
