The article doesn't say he was poorly paid. It did imply the heart attack was work related though hard physical labor doesn't usually do that. And more, I wondered if the daughter thought there was something shameful about the work. I would hope she was proud he worked hard and was good at his job.

Uh. The man was ashamed of his work because he was treated like he was one step above an animal.
