Interesting post. And with some bit of thought attached. I certainly hope to draw people out but I am quite impressed (and sincerely so) when people give an honest at bat. "each of your cells has a conscious intelligence, as does your organs as does your organ systems, as do you" I guess it depends how you define "intelligence"?? Our cells don't "think" the way that you and I do, do they?? They certainly don't get morose and drink vodka and find the problem is better (or worse)?? I guess we could claim they walk and talk and throw a rock--but are they MAKING CHOICES??? This is the key. If they are truly making choices...then they are intelligent...and "universal intelligence" has gotten a big jump-start. But if they do not truly CHOOSE, then they are not "intelligent". At least...that is my humble take. Humans program for the web. We do it millions of times a day. We create apparent choice. But the choice is truly apparent. We can make the warrior duck instead of jump. We can make her fall in love or succumb to a Demon. "I will say that "thinking" is something to be transcended in Eastern traditions today" We will all succeed in that goal! It depends on our health as to when... "...planning towards a certain future would be a nobel goal." And a very god-like one! "YOU become part of a greater whole like your cells are part of you" Well, I will become part of what I am already a part of. But my "matter" is not ME! Nor am I a cell! The life of a cell does not intrigue me although I enjoyed the book. "have you noticed the "white noise" level here is down substantially." The "I am blessed" kid?? Yeah...hopefully he is well--as well as his friend. I wish the best for both of them. Life is a jungle. They are both trying to survive with the brains they were born with. No Fault to them.
