Dan, we are pretty-much in agreement.

I don't think that Java will fail, but don't think that it will displace traditional operating systems, either. Same with NCs - they will enjoy some success, perhaps considerable, but won't displace the traditional PC.

As to the OS issue, you post proves my point. Sure, IBM is planning a "future" Java OS. Wake me up when they are done, OK?
