Frank, your outlook is understood and appreciated - not only for its inherent value, but its difference. We should never dismiss hope.

But as they say in investing circles, "Hope isn't a very good strategy."

The change that we both hope for can only be delivered through the medium of politics. Unless and until we see a demonstration of political courage and imagination, the FCC and CRTC will continue to be driven by forces they cannot control.

They don't have the power to make change. That power resides in the domains of politics and law which grant them limited authority. It is therefore unreasonable (but nevertheless satisfactory to many) to criticize their unremitting effort to steer between the rocks.
