Emerging markets will go through the same pain as developed countries like the US, Europe and Japan some day. Eventually, all of their entitlement programs will strangle economic growth like what's happening in these areas right now.

The 7 fold increase in inflation over the past couple decades has created a huge wealth gap between retirees and the current working class. Some of the union problems got straightened out in the private sector last year by force, thanks to the bankruptcy of GM and Chrysler.

Hopefully, the pension problems in the public sector will get worked out. Euorpe has made some progress with austerity reforms this year, hopefully the same will happen in states like California sooner rather than later.

The private sector in the US is unbelievable efficient, while the public sector is unbelievably inefficient.
