Things seem to be at the exact opposite point of when Volcker saved the day in the early 80's. Only parabolic gold and high oil prices are really comparable. Very low interest rates go a long way towards recovery and return to balance. Imagine we'd certainly be in horrible stagfationary depression with the working class much worse off if interest rates were anywhere near what they were back then.
