I was feeling pretty down on Midwestern cities, but then I saw this video of Detroit. Apparently, the city is reinventing itself in a very strange and innovative way. Its nice to see. So much has been lost but so much still remains in that city. Here's the vid:

At least, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee etc are trying. I am not sure what you do with places like Buffalo and Syracuse that seem to have given up.

And then there are the success stories like MPLS, Madison, Omaha, Des Moines etc. I think their climates will keep them from becoming boom towns but they all are experiencing solid growth.

We can't lose the Midwest......its the heart of this country.
