While in the same post you reference an article that IN HINDSIGHT asserts that cash for clunkers failed... Cash for clunkers. A specific program. Not the general idea of government stimulus. Certainly not the issue I was talking about, and that the CBO plugged in to their models, a specific multiplier for different types of government spending. Even with such a narrow focus on a specific program like this, while its reasonable to say it failed, no one knows exactly how badly. We don't know "the multiplier" for the program. Just that its not high (and that it also involved the destruction of wealth in terms of all the entry level used cars it destroyed making basic car transportation more expensive for the poor).
