That wasn't his point!? It's not affected by increases...that's annoying tim.

A number wich higher taxes would tend to make worse.

No one is talking about increasing taxes on the poor, and the idea that lower taxes with borrowed money does anything but bankrupt the country has been well supported by the last few years of evidence.

...The official poverty measure counts only monetary income.

So what? The point is that more people are in need of these programs now than before.
