GTE back in PLAY?
Now that MCI accepted the bid from WCOM, could it be that GTE is back in play?I suspect so. Possible bidders AT&T and BT.As I understand it BT doesn't want any part of this new MCI-WCOM deal as they are getting out with cash (7 billion?).ATT alone or ATT/BT jointly could bid for GTE,I think, how soon hard to say, but i have a
feeling sooner than later. If ATT and BT decide to bid alone, this could increase the value of GTE stock considerably as opposed to a joint bid by them. If the bid is a joint one, GTE could fecth as much as $60.00 per share, or if there is a bidding war between the two,the price could go even higher, perhaps something like 70-80 range?

I have no basis for making this prediction except that I have too much time on my hand, but hey it could happen!

Anyone has any thoughts, pro or con??????
