"The injustice, and the civilian deaths, are primarily the result of Taliban actions."

The question of honor requires consideration of perspective. This perspective may not be known let alone considered by Afghan villagers. Many war crime incidents have become publicised over the years and mishaps where civilians were accidentally killed which has created a legacy of harm done by invading forces and provides both cause for Afgans to stand up for themselves and an opportunity for the Taliban to exploit these events.

"America has an obligation to modify it's agenda in Afghanistan."

>>>"Why? How? To What?"

The justification to enter and occupy Afghanistan was determined years ago. Some initial efforts were successful but the situation on the ground has changed significantly, including spilling over into Pakistan; where Pakistanis now see the US as a greater threat than either India or the Pakistan Taliban.

"How?"

Reassess the circumsantces to redefine the mission.

To What?"

I don't know and neither do the majority of American Citizens, which is the basis for the justification problem. If it is simply to continue the battle against the Taliban, we need further clarification on the Taliban status, as it seems the Taliban population is changing. Some American political leaders and citizens have become confused between what could be labeled common folk and who are terrorists.
