There is a big difference between what you think you will need when you are in your 30's and reality when you hit 60. The been there done that over and over again kicks in after a few years of retirement. The trips you dreamed of taking become a chore after you have done them a few times. The toys aren't as much fun when the body starts to go. You spend more time with your doctor then travel agent. The big cottage and house were great when the kids were around. Down sizing after the kids go looks pretty good. Sometimes your greatest pleasure in retirement will be a good bowel movement.
