[Re: NGN97 News]

Hi Jim -

I think that the following line from your post is one of the most important, and, frankly, it worries me a bit:

<<<
...and recommends the installation of new Cat 5 wiring inside most residences.
>>>

From various sources, I've picked up bits and pieces of comments about the importance of the customer's wires, but rewiring with Cat 5 seems like quite an obstacle. How much would it cost to pull Cat 5 through an existing structure? What are the performance implications if the customer choses not to rewire?

The only people I know with Cat 5 in their house were my Sister & Bro-In-Law. While they they were building their house, I told them to wire it for a LAN with Cat 5 cabling. They're both in telecom wire/etc. sales and understood why that was a good idea. Sadly, they've relocated, but first among the features listed on their MLS listing was that it had Cat 5 wiring!

Would you please post the URL of the "NGN97" release?

Thanks
Steve
