SteveG/ALL, this maybe a flaw/loophole, but can the OS/Win95/NT/Linux protect program from crashing the system by putting application program in certain 'protect environment'? No. That's the problem. I'm actually surprised INTC hasn't taken a bigger hit on this announcement. IMO, this is a much bigger flaw than the FP bug several years ago that took billions off INTC's market cap. But then, spin is everything these days, and perhaps INTC has learned how to weather these things better.
