Suggested retail pricing for the Deskstar 16GP family ranges from $275 for a 3.2-gigabyte drive up to $895 for the 16.8GB model. The high-speed drives [14GXP] will range from $675 for a 10.1-gigabyte drive to $845 for the 14.4GB model... Both families of drives are for desktop computers.

This is from a Reuter's article (I assume fair use rules apply to my excerpting from it).

IBM appears to plan selling the heads directly to drive manufacturers, rather than licensing the technology. If this is true, it could be a fatal blow to companies like APM and RDRT.
