I am not sure how that article relates to your comment, but I have to admit I haven't followed the Nevada race closely enough to understand the article.

However you may be right. I think there is a possibliity you have may not considered, which is a new 2nd party, formed by the melding of the tea party and Reps, or by wasting away of the Rep party and gradual absorption of its conservatives by the Tea Party.

The problem with that is that the Tea Party is designed for a guerrila war (figuratively) and not a conventional war, so it will have to change a lot to ultimately govern. But as an agent of change it will do nicely.

Whatever happens the Tea Party will I think be the single most powerful force for change in American Politics through 2012.
