They got the dough because families who have been around since the 1960's up there that have worked hard and made a few decent investments in real estate are very well off now compared to the south. Transfering that equity makes more sense now than ever... Do I wish prices fell in expensive markets up there a bit more? Yes because it sometimes feels like star wars battling these people whan we both know most locals are flat broke..
