To this thread: I am seeking any thumbnail sketches or opinions
regards the closed-end investment fund of Tri-Continental---I
recently unearthed,on behalf of my mother, documents that reveal she
owns 5,000shares of Tri-Con for which she had no knowledge. She was receiving dividends from Tri-Con but didn't no anything else about
it.So I started a search of my deceased father's files and unearthed
that in 1960 he made his initial and ONLY investment in Tri-Con when
he purchased 100shares.On relentless further searching I found that
this 100shares was now roughly 5,000shares as it was for all those
years been accumulating more shares through cap-gain re-investment.
A look at its chart indicates it has been gaining strength over
the years, would those on this thread give their opinion of this
company.Thank You,Maxfield G.
